A Return to Blogging -- Even More Lost

After a 14-year hiatus from FaceBook and this blog, I’m back.  A colleague found the link to this blog from FB and commented that he enjoyed the earlier posts … I’d forgotten about it.

Originally, the title “Lost in Bavaria” was more a geographical joke for someone straddling two cultures … the blog a means to vent my aspirations to write for relatives and friends on just how cool, and different, it could be here.

Now, with the death of Lisa, my wife of nearly 39 years, the title seems more apt to my search for a new chapter in life.  One thing that seems certain is that I’m staying in Germany.  I’ve a wonderful circle of friends, my son and grandchildren are the other side of Germany (vice another continent), the house is paid for, and I quite frankly enjoy the lifestyle.

The other certainty, for now, is travel.  I always planned to see the world in retirement, but with Lisa’s responsibilities to her handicapped brother, we were very limited.  And sitting home alone isn’t all that great either. I didn’t get round to writing about my Tuscany trip … sorry.  But Vietnam awaits and I invite you to share in my adventures … and misadventures.  Stay tuned.
